As the first font mod, which ran automatically at poweron, made the firmware quite buggy,
I changed it now to a manual font mod installation (vui mod as well), which seems to make the firmware run much smoother now,
but BEFORE you can use these mods you have to make sure that certain files are in place on the V8 or it will not work.
In the next step you can see what files are needed and where they have to go.
Mod instructions for Linuxmod4-test2
Font Mod:
With this firmware comes an example font (MyFont.ttf and MyNumber.ttf)
which you have to copy into the fonts/font1 folder on the user memory (/ezxlocal/download/mystuff/fonts/font1).
As you can see both font files are the same, only the file names are different.
Any True Type font you want to use has to be in exactly the same format (2 files, called MyFont.ttf and MyNumber.ttf).
Example: ariel.ttf, copy and rename into MyFont.ttf, copy ariel.ttf again and rename into MyNumber.ttf, done!
Just create those 2 files and copy them into any empty font folder (fonts/font1, fonts/font2 .....fonts/font5).
After each new poweron the V8 will use the original font, because the font mod is not run automatically,
you have to run it manually by going to Tweaks->Font Changer and then choose from font1 to font5,
press the choosen menu and wait untill the poweron animation and sound runs again and your choosen font will be displayed.
If you run the font mod already, let's say font1, but you want to change to font3,
you have to powerdown the V8 and poweron again , only then can you choose a different font.
One word of advice, some fonts are displayed bigger then others at the same size, if you want to use one of those fonts you have to adjust the font size in the skin ini files.
VUI Mod:
This is the voice command mod, only needed if you want italian or german voice commands,
as english and french are already present.
Just copy the content of the vui folder into the vui folder on your V8 user memory (/ezxlocal/download/mystuff/vui).
Then go to Tweaks and press "vui mod" menu, nothing happens, but it is done.
